Food for your courage: it’s OK to be bogged down and cry, but remember that this is not the time to give up. It may be time to rest, but success is failure turned inside out. Look at a problem from the one positive angle you may be able to find, however insignificant it may seem.

Yesterday I was in a store I meant to solicit for a product I am creating. I walked in, and the first thing I saw was a product very similar - almost identical - to mine. I left with tears in my eyes, defeated. Only as I cried on one of the busiest street of my city, one of the longest streets in the world, did I realize the one good thing about this discovery is the confirmation there actually is a market for my product. It takes a little courage to look at the world from a different perspective, but it makes all the difference in life.

I firmly believe that an inability of changing perspective is what separates the depressed from the non-depressed, and even the suicidal from those of us with mild depression.
